We went to see the Scissor Sisters at the 02 Arena which is what the London Dome is now called.  The Scissor Sisters were great performers but to be honest the accoustics of the arena leave a lot to be desired, maybe all the steel superstructure of the massive ceiling is to blame, who knows, but what Im writing about is the travelling chaos of getting home from there!  A huge crowd headed for the underground station and were trying to filter through just one pair of glass doors to enter the station of North Greenwich Underground. It was totally inadequate for the crowd and looked like being a massively long wait to just get through the doors let alone get onto a tube. After realising the situation was going to be a tedious wait we tried the buses.  Same problem. It would have meant waiting for ages to get on a bus as well.  Considering this Arena was built in a time when Londoners were being hounded for using their cars it beggars belief that the only sure fire way of leaving the area is in fact....by car.  Booking has to be made in advance for the car park and Ive no ide how much it costs but Id advise anyone going there to take the car if they want to get home the same night!  God knows how the area will cope with the Olympics if this is what happens with a relatively small crowd of concert goers.  What a shambles.  Take the car.
