Buying a Digital Camera can be a stressfull experience and buying the wrong one is even worse!

I though that it's time to put pen to paper and  inform buyers of what to look out for and some top buying tips.

1. Purchasing online is where you will find the cheapest prices. If you need a hands on demonstration why not visit a local shop, try out your camera and then purchase online.

2. Cameras are very rarely supplied with an adequate amount of memory. Purchase a bundle and get the most for your money. Large memory cards are Often better value for money.

3. It is well worth purchasing a case for your camera as this can stop drop damage which invalidates your warranty.
4. Check that The retailer you are purchasing from is based in the UK to avoid additional shipping costs which could possibly include VAT on entry.

5. Returns and warranty could also prove to be problematic when purchasing abroad. Check the retailer's website for an "about us" section or "contact us" section.

6. Do your research before purchasing your camera to find the best camera to fit your needs at the cheapest price.  
 
7. If your camera requires double AA/AAA batteries, then be sure to purchase rechargeable to avoid constant replacement costs.
 
8. Check the duration of the cameras warranty. There are a few online sites that offer their own two year cover.
 
9. Check the cameras specification sheet, this will provide accurate technical specifications as opposed to the sometimes misleading features that are boasted by the manufacturers. This precaution will confirm you are definitely getting what you are paying for.

10. Check out some of the many online Camera Forums. They're full of helpfull people more than happy to help anyone with any level of experience. I personally, have found them very helpfull and would highly reccommend them.
