I have been building up my christmas decorations since 2005 & my favorite christmas lights are those with coloured bulbs & coloured shades ie: 1960`s /1970`s Lilliput / small screw in bulbs & the first push in bulbs circu 1980`s & here`s a few things i found out in collecting.

20 set screw in - 12 volt / 1.1 watt  -  NOMA bulb code S1

35 set screw in - 7.2 or 7.5 volt / 1.1 or 0.8 or 0.75 or 0.7 watt

40 set screw in - 6 volt / 1.1 or 0.8 or 0.75 or 0.7 watt   -  NOMA bulb code M1

I have used 6 volt bulbs in 35 sets as i can only get hold of 12 & 6 volt bulbs from NOMA.

Regarding all these lights in this review a 3amp fuse is used as standard, but i have a lower amp rating in my plugs 1.25amp which was the only fuse i could get, most old sets have a power rating of between 20 & 30 watts, so a around a 1amp fuse is better, when you have lights with a single thin insulated wire, as in the late 1980`s the wire became thicker & more insulated.

20 set push in - 12 volt / 1.1 watt

40 set push in - 6 volt / 1.1 or 0.8 or 0.75 or 0.7 watt

Most, if not all 1980`s push in spare bulbs have not been made anymore, so here`s a trick, don`t throw away your old bulbs, bend the wire back & remove from base, now you have spare base that fits your 1980`s set,

The most common 1980`s lights i have come across so far are: WOOLWORTHS / MAZDA STYLE LIGHTS / SWAN / PIFCO / WINFIELD ( woolworths )
