We have been saving up for quite some time to buy ourselves a 50 inch plasma TV.

It arrived just days ago and I have to say it looks amazing in our living room.

But when I say looks-what I mean is looks as in when the telly is turned off.

Never thought of it before BUT as this TV is a lot bigger than our last 32 inch widescreen Sanyo one, it obviously stretches the picture to over a third the size.  So the picture is actually a lot worse than with our 32 inch, it’s basically been stretched far too much, meaning anything we watch is always rather rugged round the edges as well as distorted in colour etc.

We have a sky plus box, but now it seems we need to buy a sky HD box, only a mere £300.  And even then we only get a measly 12 HD channels.

Don't get me wrong, the Xbox 360 screen is magnificent, (but who wants to play their Xbox 360 all day every day?)

So as I’ve already said, we've paid £1600 for a poorer picture quality TV.

So be warned if you intend to purchase a plasma.

If I’d of known this earlier, I’d of stuck with my Sanyo.

ps. Also worth considering, we've got a 19 inch LCD TV in our bedroom; LCD's are brilliant if you position it in the right place and at the correct eye level; as ours is wall mounted above the bed, the picture is awful-they are not worth the money if you can't sit straight in front of it, if you're viewing from the wrong angle you can barely make out the screen.

Next revolution........Yeah maybe-in 10 years.
