A Basic Guide to Wedding Stationery - Part 2

Nearly finished; this one isn't as long as part 1.

MENUS
One per table, two per table, or one for everybody, it’s up to you. If you are going for one each you should include a table plan in each one so that they can be handed out before the room is opened.

TABLE PLAN
OK, not strictly stationery but very useful. Used at the entrance to the reception to show each guest which table they are seated at. Usually printed by the hotel or wedding stationery supplier and usually each table number shows the names of the guests at that that table, but for two reasons you should consider arranging the names alphabetically with the table numbers beside them - it’s quicker to find your name rather than having to read every table and if someone doesn’t turn up, they won’t be so easily missed.

PLACE CARDS
Confirms your table plan and stops arguments about where to sit. (Allow 1 for each guest plus extras for mistakes when writing them)

THANK YOU CARDS
Essential for each gift received. Based on similar quantities as the wedding invitations and formal evening invitations added together plus a couple extra for mistakes and small presents from neighbours and friends who weren’t actually invited to the wedding but were thinking of you anyway.
Most couples buy them after the wedding but the trick is to buy them with your stationery and write them as each gift is received; that way you can include a little personal note relevant to the gift received.
Address them, stick a nice stamp on them and organise it with the best man or chief bridesmaid to post them the day after the wedding.

That’s all I can think of for now.
