There are 2 current versions of these headphones - both are the same headphones - but they have different shaped 3.5mm jack plugs for connecting to your iPod etc

Both current versions have black & white "striped" cables, the very early models have a solid black cable. We have seen fakes with both types of cable

The original version are packaged in a cardboard box and the revised (iPhone compatible) version are in a plastic pack. We have seen fakes in both types of package

1) The cardboard box pack ie "original version":

 and has this connector ==>

This is the original version of the Bose In Ear Headphones - the connector will fit almost any mp3/iPod etc EXCEPT the original (2G) iPhone and iPod Touch (3G iPhone fits OK)

All current units have black & white "striped" cables. We have seen fakes in cardboard boxes, and with both black cables and striped cables :(

2) The plastic pack ie "revised version":

 and has this connector ==>

This is the newer version of the Bose In Ear Headphones - the connector will fit ALL 3.5mm connectors INCLUDING all iPods, 2G & 3G iPhone and iPod Touch

All current units have black & white "striped" cables. These packs come in a factory sealed hard plastic bubble pack (the type of packaging you cut off a finger opening!). We have seen fakes in plastic packs, with black cables and with striped cables :(

The only way to be sure of a genuine Bose headphones is to buy from a Bose dealer or a reputable seller with a long history of selling 100% genuine items
