Following on my guide about Seiko, many people have asked me how to find out if you shop you are buying from is an authorised dealer for that specific brand.
Most official dealers will say so on their site.  Seiko for instance insist that all their authorised dealers display this logo
on their site, ie if you don't see it then you know that there could be something fishy!

Now in addition, you can check the retailer locater on the websites, simply type in the postcode of the company you are enquiring about and see if they show up on the search page.  (If you see no postcode - then this company is very fishy as they do not want you to know where they are based!!!!)  I certainly would not want to buy something when I didn't know where it was coming from.

Obviously, it may be that everything is above board even if all this info. is missing, but I certainly would advise taking extra precautions if you do not buy from an authorised dealer, as if something goes wrong you, quite frankly, will not have a leg to stand on!!!
