BMW REMOTE KEY FOB - HELP TO SAVE YOU MONEY! FACT!

Before I continue please vote on this guide if it helps and saves you money. This way we can kep this high on top of the guide menu to help others find it easier.

Firstly I will introduce myself as a vehicle locksmith and key programmer with 12 year experience. I am starting to assist Ebayers with help on saving money on remotes sold on Ebay. Nearly ALL remotes on Ebay sold second hand, new or even advertised as new but the internals are second hand placed in a new case are not possible to be programmed again. I have begun to get fed up with customers coming to me with these remotes complaining that the dealership has charged tem for trying to program the remote in. So here goes with the info.

New type       Diamond type     Old type

  • ALL Remotes above

BMW remotes bought off Ebay cannot be programmed by a yourself, dealership or normal auto locksmith.

Some remotes on Ebay advertised as bening new, un-cut and ready for programming are Chinese counterfit copies. These remotes can only be bought as a last resort. They can only be programmed via spacialist machinary devised for very special auto locksmiths for last resort circumstances. To program these remotes your car and immobiliser box needs to be stripped down for this work. A small micro processor that holds the key information needs to be extracted from the immobiliser circuit to place the new keys into the system. The dealer does not have the ability to do this job. Only a few locksmiths nationwaide can and it can be price due the labour and very specialist job.

PLEASE DO THIS FIRST

Buy direct from your local dealership. The immobilier chip and remote comes already programmed and cut to start the car. All that is needed is to sync the remote into the system manually.

If the key ordered comes cut incorrectly or doesn't start the car then go down the last resort route. Please remember you need to find a auto locksmith that can do it and get a quote.

SO THE MORAL OF THE STORY IS BUY FROM THE DEALERSHIP FOR A NEW OR SPARE KEY. DON'T BUY OFF EBAY AND BE A FOOL.

Again please vote to keep this high on the guide list to help others save their hard earned cash.

Thank you
