Since most of the wigs you've purchased are still in the original manufacuture packages, it might be helpful, before using it for the first time, to wash it in some WARM water with some conditioner, let it dry naturally, and then you can restyle it. It's quite easy to do so and the main purpose is to soften the material and clear some smell.
