Please note:  Any brass instruments bearing the name "Bessons" are reproductions, (the real name is "Besson") as are a number of brass instruments bearing the name "Boosey" (though there was actually a company manufacturing instruments under this name until the early 1900s).  These are intended for display and novelty use.  The most common type are the pocket trumpets which are primarily intended as toys and not as seroiusly playable instruments.  They can be bought through most reproductions catalogues.  They are most easily identifiable by their hexagonal valve piston caps. Some of them are extremely crude with machining marks clealy visible and put together with soft solder.
