Hi I am a professional vehicle locksmith with 12 years experience. I am writing this below because I have become fed up with customers coming to me from buying a remote of Ebay for programming. If the details below doesn't help please email me for assistance. We are aiming to stop the fraud on Ebay of selling items that cannot be used. Don't throw your money away be sensible and do your homework.
We have noticed a few problems with items advertised on Ebay.
-
ie: Peugeot 206,207,406 remote key!!! or Vauxhall Astra Vectra Omega Remote key fob!!! This is impossible as each vehicle has its own part number. Even though the remote looks the same in the internals are different. If you buy a remote for one car it will not program to another. Only in small cases this can be done.
- ie: Condition: NEW Again be very carefully with this for 2 reasons.
- The remote maybe second hand with a new case. This happens regular with Rover Land Rover, Nissan & Vauxhall's.
- The remote looks brand new but it has already been programmed. Some sellers even sell it with a new key blade to look new. This happens with nearly all cars on Ebay but most noticable to me is Nissan, Peugeot, VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda, Renault and Citroen.
- ie: Programming instructions free. Another to be carefully about. Some procedures sent to buyers are resync procedures if your own remote has lost its code. 80% of remotes & immobiliser are programmed at the sametime & married together. This is done with diagnostic machinery.
- ie: Positive feedback. Don't take a single notice to this. Many people leave feedback as soon as the item arrives. They seem to fail to say it will not program to the car. Maybe this is because of the get out clause on the item description. "Please check compatability with car before buying"
If you have a car & you need a remote & key contact the professionals. Don't rush into it like 50 customers of mine have this year. I added the money wasted & it was over £500.00. Amazing.
Come on guys/gals lets sort this out & stop the wasted money spent on items that will not work with your car. Contact me & please wait for the reply as I do get many questions.
To do this email me with a subject of the make, model & year of car in question to help me.
Kind regards
Dan
