Since January 1995 all BMW keys have been coded to a specific car - this immobiliser coding cannot be changed to any other BMW car.

If you intend to buy a BMW key through the eBay marketplace which is not coded to your car please be aware that it will be of no use on your own car.  The coding cannot be changed and the mechanical blade cannot be changed either.

If you require a new key for your BMW please go to your nearest BMW dealer with proof of ownership and photo ID to place an order.
