If you are new to buying Loose Vintage Star Wars Figures then....

1 ALWAYS ask if the weapons included are actually VINTAGE and not REPRODUCTIONS/FAKE
PLEASE NOTE - bespin blasters and imperial blasters NEVER came in GREY....
Also be careful with R2-D2 pop up lightsabers - these can be hard to find and can reach £20+ so again be careful not to buy a fake one! ( the fakes are usually molded in dark plastic and painted green)
http://www.loresdelsith.net/rincon/armeria/index2.htm will help you ID fakes
For example smaller blasters like leia blasters can sell for £10 as they are so tiny and get lost easily, as is the same for the cloud car pilot's communicator, black palace blasters and black pilot blasters.

2 Its hard to tell from a photo if a figure has loose limbs or glued on head etc... ALWAYS ASK
many of the metallic (vac-metal) finished figures will become very loose as the metallic plating will wear off in the limb areas and result in a floppy figure that does not stand up. ALWAYS ASK IF THE FIGURES CAN STAND UP UNASSISTED to save disappointment

3 If you can only see a front picture, ASK TO SEE THE BACK - some figures look great on the front but could be scratched or repainted or even yellowed by the sun.

4 There are many fake vinyl caped jawa figures out there. generally the fake capes are made from cut down Ben Kenobi capes and will be too dark. The real ones closely match the colour of the jawa figure. A real vinyl caped jawa will usually sell for over £100-£200 loose so dont get burnt with a fake! a repro cape is worthless although you see them sold for high prices as some inexperienced buyers get duped

5 C grading is very subjective - some people may list a figure as C9 but when you get it you may consider it a C6 for example, thats why its important to ask questions BEFORE you buy

6 If you prefer you can buy GRADED figures in sealed cases by AFA or UK GRADERS. This will give you a better indication to the condition of the figure you will recieve. But you will pay a premium to have your figure in this manner.
