Be very careful buying cars through ebay. Just a point I think ebay is great. I bought a car beginning of March '06, this was the description:
1993 MR2 GT T-Bar 2.0 16v
Jap import, special "Tom's" edition
Comes with personalised number plate - A14 FDJ - Worth alot!!
Cat 1 alarm system with remote central locking, Alloy wheels
Automatic air conditioning, Electric folding mirrors, Front foglights,Lowered supension
Single slot cd headunit with upgraded 8 speaker system, electric aerial
Glass T-bar removable roof with leather cases
Recent repairs include new battery, HT leads, spark plugs, cam cover gasket, dizzy cap and rotor arm, thermostat and coolant change, rear tyres and brake light switch
NEW RECON ENGINE AND NEW CLUTCH FITTED AT 110,000 MILES!!!!
Sale includes new set of front pads (not fitted)
Now the honest bits!!!......car has bit of a scrape along o/s/f wing, very minor car park dents on o/s/r and n/s/r wings. The o/s/f seat has a normal wear and tear rip in o/s bolster. The suspension has been lowered but tends to knock bit over bumpy roads. The secondary engine fan has an intermittent fault and doesnt work sometimes. The bonnett has had a respray sometime in the cars life and is slightly different colour.
The car is taxed til end of april 2006 and MOT til Mid June 2006, but i am selling for genuine reason - was offered a beautiful new car by my work and i do hate to see the MR2 go as she drives beautifully and will give someone alot of roof down fun in the summer
This car just needs a good home and a little TLC to be a real summer stunner again!!!
I bought it with this description from Ton351. I see he is now selling the blinds for thdeadens the noise.
Now it is going to cost me between £700 and £1000 to put this right. Always view car and pay for it through Paypal as there is recourse.
e tbar separately.
I left the positive feedback the next day as it seemed as described (paid cash) and then did my usual thing with engines, I put Slick 50 in. This revealed a BIG PROBLEM, the bottom end bearings are gone, not apparent if thick oil is used as it deadens the noise. It is now going to cost me (quoted) between £700 and £1000 to put engine right.
Always view the car or buy with paypal so there is some recourse!!
