Vintage Whistles

I thought i would write a very quick guide on buying a vintage suit and ensuring a good fit as its such a frequently asked question.

Q : Can i get a vintage suit altered ?

A: Yes normally , most suits can easily be altered at trouser waist , hem & cuff length but always check with seller first how much spare fabric is available if you need extra size / length. Many dry cleaners offer these alterations at a very reasonable rate. More intricate alterations can be done but its worth finding a good tailor to undertake these.

Q ; How do i know it will fit correctly ?

A;  MEASURE ! MEASURE ! MEASURE !   Its always worth checking ALL measurements in listings against your own to ensure the best fit possible . Most sellers advertise in title " size to fit ".  So for example a 38 regular will be advertised as 38 or 38R. However when you look at listing it may say " chest measures 40" " .  Why ?    Because its very important that you can breathe whilst wearing it !! :)

Hope this helps !
