It seems that fakes are not confined to handbags, shoes and jewellery. For instance - there seem to be rather a lot of new and unauthorized Chanel products come on to the market - namely lipglosses "Spark a Conversation", "Wonderlift Curl Mascara", items that seem confused as to whether they are part of the skin care or cosmetic line...
^ THIS IS A FAKE MASCARA ^
The cosmetic line comes in black plastic cases - there is usually a single double C logo on the lid and nowhere else on the compact - lipsticks including testers never come in white cases - there are never paint palettes of eyeshadows (exception being the authentic Aqualumieres and Essentiels collections) - or bumper compacts of cosmetics. The packaging for the make up line is black gloss, the font/typeface never varies.
If you see for example a volumizing lipgloss in a white package which at the top says lipgloss and yet at the base says whitening range in French - would you not question this - why combine the colour make up range with the whitening range? The only make up that is part of the precision whitening range is foundation and powder available to the Asia market.
Chanel quad eyeshadows are the round bombe shape in Europe and the square pyramid shape in US - the duo and single powder eyeshadows are oblong pans - not round. Seems that the fakers might have gotten a little confused between Chanel and Lancome. Cream eyeshadows can be in square pan.
Chanel invests a lot of money into product research, it uses ingredients that have been tested; it uses slightly different formulations dependent upon the country of manufacture (US and Europe). Now, consider buying a so called Wonderlift curl mascara - your eyesight is valuable to you - do you really want to spend money on an untested unauthorised product that could potentially damage your eyesight?
I am not writing this review to upset sellers - not the honest but clueless ones who haven't realized that they are breaking the law by selling counterfeit goods - buyers know your products however, before you accuse a seller of a fake item make sure that the item that is being sold is in fact a fake - Chanel does manufacture different ranges for different countries.
For instance they have an extensive whitening skincare range which is available for the Asiatic market where the concern is to have a pale moonlit complexion free of pigmentation blemishes - you may find that if you buy a US version of a lipstick it will not have the same ingredients simply because of Federal laws as to colours and fragrances.

The objective of this exercise is to educate yourself before buying and before being carried away into buying a fake that could potentially damage your skin with untested ingredients. Yes, we all like a bargain however at what cost to our health? Buying a fake handbag might make you cry at the loss of money but buying a fake mascara that damages your sight... think about it.
