- Dont use a suede brush on suede shoes, use masking tape.
- Use 00 grade sandpaper on nubuck.

- Use Castor Oil to soften leather, also on leather soles to waterproof them.
- Sticky zips on your boots? Try rubbing a pencil lead down them.
- Lace ends fraying? Burn them for a few moments.
- To stop laces from coming undone, coat them with shoe polish (on a cloth) and leave to dry overnight.
- If your lace panels on shoes or boots meet or overlap once the shoes are on and laces tied, stick a piece of rubber, shaped to fit, under the tongue.
- To stretch shoes, stuff them with potato peelings overnight.
