DRUGGIST/APOTHECARY BOTTLES

Drugstore bottles were used as display bottles in nearly every drugstore during the last century. These bottles come in a wide variety of styles. The early drugstore storage bottles were made of crystal glass often with wide mouths. The vast majority of these bottles date from 1850`s to the turn of the century. Bottles are becoming rarer to find in antique shops, malls, and auctions. The more desirable specimens have illicit drug names or highly colored labels and sell for greater sums. Examples in amber, ruby, vaseline or cobalt glass will also bring extremely high prices.
