As I wrote in part one I personaly like to keep the internals of these pre-war electric pumps in place, but that is up to the restorer. This is a brief round up of the most common electric petrol pumps in Gt. Britain before WW2.

Avery Hardoll 888  The first new pump after the collaboration between the two companies. A narrow body with 2 wrap-around panels and a round clockface which zero's with a small knob protruding through glass. Fitted with an unusual "frilly" globe gallery.

Beckmeter Model C. A tall tapering pump, with plate steel sides and double apex cast iron top, very heavy so be careful. Clock face or computing head (model K).

Gilbarco Calco-Meter  This company came out of Gilbert & Barker and sold through Stemco of Camden Town. Lovely "art deco" styling with chrome trim. As the name suggests it has an early calculating head.
