If you’ve received a PayPal payment email notification and your My eBay shows the payment status as Pending, but when you log into your PayPal account there is no record in the transaction history of receiving the payment, then the PayPal payment email address you used on the eBay listing form is not associated with your PayPal account. This could be because you’ve used an old email address, or you’ve used your eBay registered email (if your eBay and PayPal email addresses are different).

What To Do

Because you have received the payment notification email, the payment has been sent to an email address that is valid and which you control (otherwise you would not have received the email).

You can have up to 8 email addresses attached to your PayPal account, so just add that email address.

• Login to your PayPal account
• Click the edit profile hyperlink
• Select Email under Account information
• Click the Add button

Enter the email address which received the payment notification email and
click the Save button.





Your email address will now have been added to your PayPal account. You do not need to make the new email address the Primary one.

PayPal will send you an email message to confirm the email address, so go to your email client browser / application and click the Click here to confirm your additional email address link in the email. Then enter your PayPal password when prompted (but check the URL starts https://www.paypal.com/uk)





If you cannot see the link in the email, make sure that images are displayed in your email client and that the display format is HTML, not plain text.

OR copy the confirmation number displayed in the email (highlight CTRL + C).
Login to your PayPal account.
Click the ‘To Do’ list on the Overview Screen (at the right hand side).





Press the Click here if a link does not appear in the email link in Step 2





Paste (CTRL + V) the confirmation number into the box.
Then click the Confirm button.





The payment will then automatically show in your account.

is one that is confirmed in your PayPal account.

Once you have changed the email payment address on the SYI forms, it should be remembered thereafter, but it's advisable to double check when you list an item.

If you are re-listing, or using a listing template, again, don't forget to check the email payment address.

In Turbo Lister, don't forget to change the email address in any files / templates you have already created.

• Auction Defaults / Fixed Price Defaults / Classifies Ad Defaults / Shop Inventory Defaults
• Payment Methods
• PayPal Account Email
