I have recently done some research into pagers as I needed one to be in contact with my wife who is about to give birth. Found a considerable quantity of both new and used available but largely they will not work unless they are supported by PageOne or Vodafone. To my knowledge these are the only public access networks still in operation! For example companies like BT and Mercury ceased their paging operations 2+ years ago!!! So please be careful... No use buying a pager, even if it's brand new and unregistered, UNLESS it carries the support of one of the companies listed above! There may of course be other network providers out there, but I did not find them!
