Protect children by using a properly fitted, purpose made car seat which meets the current safety standards and is appropriate for your childs height and weight. Always try before you buy and get a trained proffesional to demonstrate how to fit the seat. When fitting the car seat always follow manufacturers instructions and allow plenty of time. The same applies when strapping your bay into the seat. Always make sure the seat is fitted properly before evry journey. Always keep a copy of the instructions in the car.

Baby seats are for babies weighing upto 13kgs this weight is usally around 9-12 months in age or until they can hold their own head up. These seats face backwards and must always be put in the back seat. Never put in a front seat with an air bag.

Child seats are for children weighing between 9 and 18 kgs usally 9 months to about 4 years in age. Child seats always have their own straps. They face forward and are usally again fitted in the back seat.

Booster seats and cushions are for children weighing 15 to 36 kgs 4 years and upwards. They are designed to raise them so they can use an adult seat belt safely across their chest and abdomen.

Always make sure the childrens car seat belts are properly adjusted and fastened before setting off in any car, even the shortest trip. Always remember set a good example and fasten your seat belt.

By law you have to wear a seat belt if the car has one fitted. No child can travel in the front seatwithout the correct child car seat.

By law children under 135cm must have the correct seat or booster.

By law you must not place a rear facing child seat in the seat where there is an active frontal airbag.

Never modify a child car seat to try and make it fit.

Lap and diagonal belts are safer than lap belts only.
