There are several scams which appear regularly on eBay and appear to come from Chinese based sellers.

The items are always Buy it Now listings and the seller usually lists 8-10 items at the same time. Often the items are the same.

There are several ways of identifying these listings.

  • The listings are for valuable items at ridiculously low prices;
  • The seller always has 10 feedbacks, these are needed because that is the minimum allowed before an eBayer may list Buy it Now items;
  • The feedback is always given at the same date and time;
  • Often the accounts that have left the feedback are no longer registered;
  • If you look at the items which feedback was left for the descriptions will be very short and meaningless. The value of the items will be pennies.

Any listings like this should be avoided like the plague, do not even use the ask seller a question facility to harangue the scammer.

Report them to eBay.
