Choosing a Contact Lens Case
Choosing a contact lens case can be difficult, especially if you are new to wearing lenses, or if you have recently changed the type you wear.
Screw-Top Contact Lens Case
Screw-Top cases are the most widely available type of contact lens case.
They are suitable for all types of contact lenses (hard, RGP, soft etc), and the wells ensure that your lenses are fully immersed in solution, preventing accidental drying out.
They are available in a range of shapes, styles and colours - from plain white to glittery pink!
Flip-top Contact Lens Case
Flip-top cases are suitable for all types of lenses. (hard, RGP, soft etc)
These are especially suitable for people who struggle to un-screw conventional contact lens cases.
The lids only open in one direction, making it much harder to mix-up your left and right lens!
Travel Contact Lens Case
Travel contact lens cases come in a wide range of shapes, colours and styles.
Contents will vary between different styles, although they usually contain:
- Mirrored lid
- An empty solution bottle, to fill with a solution of your choice
- Silicone-tipped tweezers to prevent scratching or tearing whilst handling
- Removable screw-top contact lens case
These are especially suitable for travelling, although are an ideal sixe for your handbag or pocket!
Barrel Contact Lens Case
Barrel contact lens cases are only suitable for soft contact lenses.
These are available with integrated removers, or neutralising activators.
