Why use Component Video, When SCART works OK?
In that case, Why buy a colour TV when you can watch your programs on a Black and White...
Hi, my name is Jim Saunders. I have been a member of ebay now for a long time and recently I became a Powerseller buying and selling anything I could find that was worth anything to anyone.
I have always been a Tech head and recently have become setup my new company HDInterconnects. Television cables for the new age of Televisions etc.
The reason I am writing this guide is to let you know a little bit more about the component cables we stock and why you should be using Component video instead of your trusty SCART Cable.
Does your DVD player and TV have Component capability?
The easy way to find out is by looking on the back of both and checking for the vivid RED, GREEN and BLUE phono sockets as illustrated below.
If you find that both your DVD Player and Television have the above connections and you are not using a set of component cables to join the two, you are MISSING OUT on amazing picture quality!
How Component cables work
and why they are one of the best Video interconnects you can get.
An analog video signal carried on three wires. A separate signal is carried for luminance, blue and red (green is derived). Component video may be referred to as "Y, BY, RY", "Y Pb Pr" or "Y Cb Cr", the terms are used interchangeably. A component video signal is carried on component video cables, which provides a very high quality signal; a step above S-video. This is the minimum quality connection to enjoy the benefits of an HDTV signal or DVD progressive scan
A Component cable set consists of three 75-ohm coaxial wires.
To put it in easy to understand terms, Sending the signals from your DVD Player to your TV via component cables is a System of signal processing that maintains the original video elements separately rather than combined (encoded) into a single, composite video signal as with SCART or S-Video.
Component video offers a higher level of performance and should be considered in high performance systems.
We Sell 2 Types of Component Cables.
1, A Low Priced slightly lesser quality set.
2, Our Own HDinterconnects Pro Gold Series.
Although we sell the lower priced set of components, 9 out of every 10 sets we sell are the Pro Gold Series, a Slightly more expensive option but using the Highest quality cable and RCA connectors.
We always advise customers who are looking to buy components that buying cheap television leads is OK but why spend all that money on a nice new Plasma or LCD TV to get a better quality picture and then be tight when it comes to Interconnects.
We have different lengths available in our ebay shop and can always make you a set to a specified length should you need them. Upto 100 metres available but we do recommend a maximum of 30 metres.
You will certainly notice the difference as soon as you first use your component cables for watching a DVD. The Improvement is not just slight but dramatic! it has to be seen to be appreciated!
NOTE.. Component Video Cables are Video only and Seperate Audio cables are also required. These can be your standard red and white Audio phono leads, Those you would use to link a CD Player to a Stereo Amp etc. We also offer High quality Audio interconnects with Components in full sets, Available in our ebay shop.
I hope this guide helps you to understand the benefits of using component cables and will enable you to get more from your Television viewing enjoyment..
Thanks for reading and have a good day!
Jim Saunders
