Having been in the blinds industry for over ten years most of that has been supplying and fitting conservatory blinds i would like to share my opinions on the types of blinds available and the good and bad points.
Vertical Blinds
The most versatile blinds to use in a conservatory, also one of the most economical. With vanes being able to rotate through 180 degrees and the facility to pull the blinds back out of the way when not required, vertical blinds offer the perfect balance between privacy and shade and with an ever increasing range of designer fabrics to choose is the most popular choice with our customers at blinds2you. The downside to vertical blinds, you will loose the use of your window cill.
Roller blinds
Roller blinds offer a different style of blinds than vertical blinds. By having a roller blind for each panel section of your conservatory, or maybe one roller blind for every two panels. You can create a softer more dressed finish to your conservatory, with options such as scalloped or castle style bottoms with braided edges or metal poles (cafe rods).. Do ask for the reverse roll option this will make sure the blinds clear the window handles. The downside is on a sunny day when you have the blinds down you will not be able to see out, also flies will get squashed in the roll of fabric.
Pleated Blinds
Pleated blinds are the most suitable solution for the roof of your conservatory. They can be tailored to fit the most awkward shaped roofs, whilst remaining neat and uniformed. Pleated blinds can be used on your conservatory sides, as well as in the roof, or choose to mix them with Rollers, Romans, Verticals or Venetians for a completely unique look
Available in two pleat widths of 25mm and the newer 20mm pleat.
