A copper fire bowl in your garden will bring colour and warmth to the patio, deck or lawn. They can, of course, be used year round for your outdoor events, barbecues and parties.

There is little doubt that a roaring fire on a winter's evening in the garden brings a certain warmth to the soul.

WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR?
Look for a good quality copper firebowl, complete with a stand. Many stands will be in powder coated mild steel or painted wrought iron and will often be scrolled for decorative effect.

Some fire bowls come with a safety mesh cover.

WILL THEY LAST?
Copper will tarnish over time, especially with intense fires. The shine can be brought back with metal cleaners such as Brasso.

WHAT CAN WE BURN?
Wooden logs are the standard fuel for fire bowls.

IS IT ALSO A BARBECUE?
No. With a copper firebowl, you place the wood logs on top of the grill. The ash then falls safely through into the bowl.

ANYTHING ELSE?
Remember to let the ash completely cool before moving your fire bowl or cleaning. A mesh spark cover will provide extra safety.
