The information given in the 'REPLICERS' (sp) guide is unfortunately very misleading. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a Green Shield backstamp having a letter 'A' or 'O' above or below it, it is actually fairly common and completely fine for a piece c. 1950's - these are not 'replicas' and to our knowledge there have never been any attempts to replicate a blue & white, green shield Cornishware shaker, it just wouldnt be worth the effort! Also not all older storage jars with names have a black shield backstamp. The 'Early Church' backstamp is completely fine as is a Green Shield on certain (but VERY few) named jars.

If you have any queries regarding Cornishware backstamps please dont hesitate to ask and we will happily point you in the right direction.

Kind Regards
