Merry Meet to you!
Well you have made the first steps on the pathway to learning Witchcraft.
You know that you want to meet with like minded people but you dont know if you want to join a coven or practice solitary. I have done both, so here are some tips.
Coven Workings :-Advantages:- A excellent way to feel the energy created with the cone of power created by a coven working together, you form relationships, close, with like minded people. They are a new family to you. The disadvantages :- A over friendly high priest (have you seen "The Witches of Eastwick") encouraging you to go sky clad, to be initiated. The high priestess, trying to teach you and control at the same time. Bitch Craft- conflicts of egos in the coven. You have to attend coven meetings regularly,or else! You do not feel your own inner energy so much, as concentrating on the workings of the coven.
Solitary Workings:- Advantages:- Fantastic inner strength is developed, everything is taken at your own speed, you find your own path. You are a free spirit!. Disadvantages:- Can be a bit lonely at times, no one to discuss the amazing vision, creation you have seen/made. No one to assist you when you invoke the Goddess Athena (help!) The energy is different and maybe not as strong, as no group pulling together.
I have found that people are moving away from coven workings and finding there own pathway and strength within as a solitary.I and my partner work together and as solitary.
Some people do not trust covens, or do not settle and move from one to another, working on your own solves this issue.
Basically as with anything else in life the question you have to ask is Do I work better on my own or in a team? I work better on my own, a free spirit, making my own flights, my own discoveries.
Whatever you may choose.
Bright Blessings to you.
