 Everyone has the ability to receive psychic information, learn how : Scrying  is simply looking into ' something ' to see images that will tell you a story, perhaps of the past, present or the future. Many things are used for this ; ink, fire, water, mirrors, cauldrons, etc but the most popular and believed successful is the crystal ball. 

HISTORY Crystal balls have not always been used, Babylonians used to scry into liquid in sacred bowls, Hindus used to scry into a bowl of molasses, Egyptians used to scry into a pool of ink cupped in their hands, and Greeks used to scry by lowering mirrors into Holy Water. John Dee, scientist and astrologer to Queen Elizabeth 1 used crystal balls. Nostradamus used a brass bowl filled with water on a brass tripod.

WHAT IS A CRYSTAL BALL   It is a tool , one of many, which is used as a point of focus, allowing our mind  to relax into such a state, it can tap into the collective unconscious.

HOW TO USE A CRYSTAL BALL   For anyone who is using a crystal ball for the first time, the following is to help you until you become familiar with one yourself. You don't need to wear a shawl or gypsy type earings! If you live with others ask for some privacy for a little while, without speaking in a foreign accent to them ! ' Setting the scene '  helps you relax and makes it a magical experience:  Have the room lit by candlelight, but not placing them so you can  see their direct reflections in the ball.  Either play very gentle music or be in the silence. Place the crystal ball on a black cloth on the table in front of you, this avoids too many outside reflections and distractions. Sit and calm yourself, then before you begin always ask for protection from your spirit guides, spirit friends, whichever term you choose to use , but state your intention is to work in the ' Light '. You are now ready, this is it. Simply gaze into the ball, don't try to see anything, just gaze. To relax cannot be stressed enough, it is a major part of allowing your conscious mind get lost within the ball. Try to keep your mind blank, this is actually a practised art in itself. Feel free to blink. After a certain time maybe 15 minutes, the ball will seem to turn, smoky, misty, milky, this will fade and you will then see pictures. They may be in black and white or colour. They may be still or moving. They may appear real or cartoon like. They could be symbolic. They could be past, present or future. To begin with just watch. Each time you do it, become a little more familiar, until you may feel you are ready to ask what you are seeing, your skills will develop more and you will get emotions along with the pictures, you may even hear things. Be patient for all this though, it may take many, many sittings before you even see the mist. Or you may short cut like me; The first time I tried scrying  I did'nt get chance to see any mist, ( in fact I never have yet ) I did'nt even wait for my first crystal ball.  I had just been given a very beautiful expensive clear crystal bowl full of posh pot pourri, by a close friend, I kept looking at this and decided the bowl  had a better future,  I had bigger ideas for it, so I jumped up ditched all the pretty pot pourri, and went to the kitchen , rinsed it, filled it with water, and sat with my head over it, like a mad woman !  Desparate to see anything , not atall relaxed,   I sat just looking, doubting, thinking  yeah, yeah, suddenly it was like I had T.V. on in there, I nearly died of shock. The first thing I saw was a horrible red monster thing. I acted quickly, ran back to the kitchen  with water swilling everywhere and poured away the water that was left shouting, get out of my bowl, how DARE you.........! Refilled the bowl with water, tiptoed back carefully , sat back down again and then knew to ask for protection from my spirit friends, and that I was only working in the light.......  Then it was unbelievable, private and immensely special what I saw, I honestly actually got up and paced around in disbelief. When I eventually I sat back down I was most upset my telly had appeared to have turned off.  I soon learnt to stay put ! Now I use the most exquisite crystal balls , and it is a delight choosing which one to use. 

THEORY OF HOW A CRYSTAL BALL WORKS  The crystal ball or whichever object you use does not itself hold any images itself.  You project these yourself by using the ball as a focus. The ball helps you lose your conscious thoughts , and to unlock your subconscious, taking you to a higher awareness. Around us all the time is the universe waiting to talk to us,  but to enable this to happen we have to relax enough mentally and provide the channels to access us.       

CARE AND PROTECTION OF A CRYSTAL BALL   It is good to cleanse a crystal ball before use . It is essential to do this when it is newly acquired. One way of doing this is bathing it in the moonlight or you may rinse it in salt water. In time people develop their own style which is right for them. When not in use some people choose to keep them in the dark, perhaps in a padded box, or wrapped in fabric. Other people prefer to have them on full show in a display cabinet because they are in themselves so beautiful. I think as long as they are cleansed before use it does'nt matter how they are stored. It is better not to place in direct sunlight as some crystals may start to fade. It is not atall unusual for collections to be started and to use a different one as and when you feel drawn to it. Some people believe that when on display the crystal ball can catch your attention when it wants to talk to you.

BUYING A CRYSTAL BALL   Nowadays there are  'acrylic'  balls on the market  which are very much cheaper than crystal , however they scratch easily. There are also some  ' glass '  balls on the market, but although they are again much cheaper than crystal I found they strained my eyes.  Crystal balls are expensive and the clearer you find one the more costly it will be. Unless you are very lucky and pay a lot of money there will always be some natural markings in the crystal to a lesser or greater degree. However some people actually prefer the natural markings because when they are gazing into it they find the markings are usefull and pretty to focus on.  As you tilt your head slightly the pattern and reflections change. A very sought after kind of marking is in the appearance of a rainbow within, this is also called angel wings. There are several different types of crystal balls to choose from, not just clear quartz. You may prefer for example rose quartz, amethyst, or yellow calcite. There are also different sizes. Whichever you choose ensure you buy a stand for it, the little clear plastic are my favourite because they don't detract form the crystal ball itself.

FOOTNOTE   I started off in a crazy fashion,  with my bowl of water, as you know ,and  now calmly love to work with crystal balls, but please be remember it IS possible to scry into anything, as suggested  by the methods used historically, which I indicated earlier.  I  will give you another example of how to not be convential.  One day I was so  bored in one of my most boring jobs , I was actualy driven to having to practise scrying into a white A4 envelope ! Don't knock it ! I saw one of the most beautiful creatures I have ever seen in my life. I will never forget it , it was a young monkey, he was 'alive' , he was looking at me, blinking, I could see him clearer than I can see objects in real life !  I could see where tiny white hairs started at his hairline, I could see every  fleck and a multitude of  colours in his eyes, I could see each eyelash individually, I could see the feel of his beige tinted skin, all his little wrinkles, I could'nt stop smiling at him with a big beam across my face. He was totally adorable. The magic was broken suddenly though, when a bewildered colleague asked me what the '___' I was doing !
