INJECTION PUMP TIMING IS CRITICAL , AS WITH ALL ENGINES,BUT IF THAT FUEL PUMP STILL HAS THE VOLVO SEAL ON THE FUEL FLOW SCREW & ITS SMOKING LIKE A GOODUN,------ CHECK & RE-CHECK THAT TIMING.WHILE I'M ON THE SUBJECT OF PUMPS,LOOK AFTER IT, IF & WHEN ITS TIME TO WORK ON THE FUEL INJECTION PUMP IT CAN BE COSTLY.
WORN BUSHES IN THE PUMPS CAUSED BY OVERTIGHTENED PUMP BELTS WILL GIVE THE IMPRESSION OF FUEL DROP BACK,WHERE THE BUSHES WEAR ONE SIDE ,THE SEAL GOES SOUTH & SUCKS IN AIR,I'VE SEEN IT DONE & HAPPEN.£400--£500 LATER THE PUMP SHOULD BE UP TO SPEC & READY TO DO ANOTHER TURN
