This simple act WILL improve your ratings!

Do you find yourself disappointed when what you viewed and bought, doesn't measure up??

Of late, I have found my expectations & hopes have been more than a little dashed when the object I admired, when it arrived, proved to be somewhat smaller, and in some cases, 'microscopic' when compared with the size of the item pictured in the listing.  This is more and more the case, as Digi imaging with photo software, can enlarge & enhance any image easily.

I speak of Lapel Pins Enamel Badges and the like, but this is applicable for many other items, I have noticed that in many cases, the Seller gives the dimensions of the item, or places a coin, or some such easily recognisable item for size comparison and this is good, but they are becoming the 'minority'.  In a growing number of listing descriptions the Seller is simply not doing so.

This leaves it to the Buyer to ask the size or dimensions, is this right?  If I went into a shop,  the shopkeeper would show me the item, not just point to the item in a picture, and remain dumb with regards it's attributes, ie size etc is that not so?  Granted, I have a mouth, I can speak, but if the Seller wants to close the sale, the ball is in their court, so to speak.

As the E-Bay listings are the Sellers 'tray of goods'  some are even called 'E-Shops', as this is the case, should it not be incumbent upon the Seller (shopkeeper) - within the description of the item to give as good a 'pen picture' of the item as is possible, The whole point of the exercise is to 'sell the thing' is it not?

Therefore, that being the Obvious case, why are the dimensions ( size ) of the item often not given nor an item easily recognisable placed by it,  to give a good approximation of the size?

Ad this thought, if  though, the item does not 'appear to be', large, perhaps even fragile, heavy in weight - all of which affect the 'postal charge' to be incurred, - now that is information near on always given!! -  we come to 'viable justification' of charges

This all gives way to the thought that if the size of the item is known, the bid price, & indeed the postal costs, could be viewed more readily, as perhaps, on the high side.

Come on boys and girls play the game!  Granted one can always find the statement 'please contact for all or any questions!!'  -  But, some questions should not need to be asked  -  Sellers expect the Buyer to be 'open & forthcoming' - that's a two way street.

Yes, I do Sell this and that now and again, so I have experience on both sides of the deal.  If the item is small, petite, unobtrusive showing good quality of enamelling in miniature etc etc - ((and stated as such,))  the seller can only benefit on return custom, feedback %, & comments.

Back to the question Does the size matter? - well yes, but not in the way you first thought.

I hope this will filter down, and descriptions will be enhanced and there be smiles when the Posty-Man comes!
I have hopes that this will help both seller & buyer alike and assist in the provision of: -

Happy Trading, Happy Traders.  why not give it a vote if you found it helpful and or interesting
