DYEING DRIED GRASSES & LIVE FLOWERS USING MULTI-PURPOSE DYE

One of summer's pleasures is gathering wild flowers and grasses to make
wonderful dried arrangements. The only drawback is that the original colours
fade and your floral arrangement can end up looking like a bunch of straw.
Keep summer's memories alive by dyeing dried flowers and grasses with
some of the vibrant colours available in Dylon's range of Multi-Purpose Dyes.

Method:

  1. As well as dried flowers and grasses and Dylon Multi-Purpose Dyes in your
choice of colours, you'll need a plastic bowl, rubber gloves, a glass jug, a
     stirring utensil and paper towels.

  2. Wearing rubber gloves, pierce dye tin and dissolve dye in 500ml of hot
water. Fill bowl with very hot water and add dissolved dye.

  3. Wet dried flowers or grasses completely and then submerge  in bowl.
Gently move them around bowl to make sure all areas are covered.

  4. Remove dried flowers from solution once desired colour is achieved.
Rinse carefully and allow to dry by laying them on paper towels.

  5. During drying process, tap dried flowers or grasses gently to separate.

Tip: The quantity of dye needed depends on the depth of colour required.
The shades obtained will not be as intense as those achieved on
       dyed fabric.
