Dylon Dye Colours with updated names
The current range of Dylon Dye was introduced in 2007. It was based on the previous colours but most of the colour names were changed. The actual colours did not change, so 40 degree dyes with the old names are exactly the same colour as the new ones.
In this list, the old name is shown in brackets. Colour numbers are the same as before, although the numbers are no longer printed on the dye packs.

Hand and Machine Dyes no longer manufactured
These colours no longer manufactured in either Dylon Hand or Machine fabric dye. Dates are approximate as they are based on our own sales records.
If you see any of these colours for sale, the stock is old. While there is probably nothing wrong with it, be aware that you will not be able to obtain any more, and there are no exact matches in the current colour range.
2007
Several colours were discontinued when the current black design packaging was introduced in 2007. Colours ceased were:
#01 Yellow - a lighter yellow than the current Sunflower Yellow.
#14 Porcelain Blue - a pale blue similar to China Blue.
#23 Indigo - Almost identical to Navy Blue, but had a hint of purple.
#46 Cream
#47 Bordeaux - a deep wine red.
#48 Poppy Red - a bright red.
#52 Peach
#77 Stone - similar but slightly darker than the current Pebble Beige
#86 Deep Red
Dye for Blue Denim - This product was denim blue, but also preserved some of the light/dark contrast when used on denim jeans. It did not have a colour number.
2006
#16 Slate Grey - A slightly lighter grey than the current #80 Antique Grey, however given that the shade can be varied by using less dye/more fabric, this colour served little purpose.
#75 Scarlet - A bright red. One of many red shades available at the time.
#79 Vivid Turquoise - Almost identical to the current #21 Turquoise.
2005
#72 Spring Green
2004
#13 Dusky Pink - We sold our last stock of this in January 2004. Only available in Hand Dye, and was a dull, uninviting dark pink colour. It is likely that manufacture of this stopped several months earlier in 2003.
Seasonal Specials
In addition to the regular colours above, there were several 'seasonal' colours available. These were typically available for a few months in the spring or autumn. These were never regular products, and many were only available in a limited number of stores.
Multipurpose Dye, Cold Dye and Cold Fix
These two dye products were previously sold in small round tinlets, and the fix in paper sachets. Effective June 2008, these are no longer available for retail sale. The dye powder is still manufactured, but it only available in industrial sized cans (each one equivalent to approximately 100 of the retail tinlets).
Dylon Shoe and Accessories Colour
At one time, these were available in a wide range of colours. The full list was:
01 Yellow
03 Red
04 Pink
03 Purple
05 Navy Blue
09 Evergreen
11 Terracotta
12 Dark Brown
13 Stone
14 Storm Grey
15 Black
16 White
18 Magnolia
19 Mid Blue
21 Burgundy
22 Gold
23 Silver
From 2007, only 6 colours were available - black, white, red, navy, magnolia and brown.
From August 2008, this entire range was discontinued, as they were equivalent to the Lady Esquire shoe colourant range.
From June 2010, this range is available again, but only in the 6 colours - black, white, red, navy, magnolia and brown.
Dylon Suede, Satin, Nubuck and Leather Dyes
All of these products were discontinued in August 2008, and were replaced with equivalent products from the Punch dye range.
However, from June 2010, the Dylon Suede Dye and Dylon Leather Dye are available again in three colours (navy blue, black and brown). Confusingly, the relaunched products were in the same style packaging as the discontinued ones.
From 2011, the packaging is being updated, however there is still plenty of the 'old' packaging left, which makes it impossible to tell how old a particular item actually is.
