This is a very popular question for many new chihuahua or small breed dog owners, and is a very important issue which is worth considering, there are more important reasons for dressing your toy dog than just for fashion fun!

Chihuahuas are small or tiny, mine are all different sizes with different needs!

mine range between 2.7lbs and 6lb's and they all need clothes

Small dogs do not have much body volume to make or retain heat, Chihuahuas get cold very easily, if unprotected when out and about in the cold air they can get hypothermia and in severe cases if not caught quickly enough can die.  These little dogs need clothes to retain their body heat, and keep the wind and rain off, i always take a spare sweater/coat so if it gets wet i can change my chi's into nice dry clothing.

Chihuahuas look totally cute in clothes, not a need but so much fun :-)

Sweaters seem to be the best as they fit snug to the chi's body and does not hinder movement, but remember all dogs are different, and most things look adorable on a chi, just as long as when you are walking the dog the outfit is comfortable and gives them freeness of movement.

Spring: Light Sweater

Summer: T-Shirts

Autumn: Sweaters, light coats & fleece jackets

Winter:  Thick Sweaters, Hooded coats, Boots, Scarves etc.....
