If you are selling on ebay i urge you to vote for this guide to keep it in the public eye and so that ebay can see the amount of attention it is getting and i will press for them to act.
Please feel free to correct me if i am wrong but i have had several conversations wth my account manager and emailed ebay several times regarding this matter and here is what i understand about negative feedback left for a seller.
With all the information i have been given i understand that ebay will only remove a negative feedback if it breaches there feedback rules. Now to a certain extent i do agree with the new feedbck system and think that it will show good from bad sellers. However there is one part of it that i think stinks! and that is there refusal to remove feedback under any other circumstances. I just can not understnd why they removed the mutual agreement to withdraw feedback with the customer if you have resolved there problem. Yes i could understand if they removed the mutual feedback system under the old feedback system were a seller could blackmail a buyer in to removing the feedback by giving them a neg, but now they can not do that it would no longer effect any reason as to why you can not agree with a buyer to have the feedback removed and it's just not fair at all.
There are many reason why a buyer would leave negative feedback some fair and some very unjust, here are some examples of why buyers would leave a neg but as a seller you should be able to have it removed.
Late delivery (in this case we would contact the buyer appologies and refund any express shipping part of there order and they would gladly remove the feedback)
Mistake! when a buyer leaves a neg for the wrong seller (now surely this is out of order, yes they made a mistake and would like to recify it!)
Broken item (if you contact the buyer and replace the item they are more than happy to remove feedback, yes it would be nice for them to give you a chance to do this first but as we all know some people shout before even trying to solve the problem)
Damaged packaging (again if you refund the postage as a good will gesture they are more than happy to remove the feedback)
I think you get the point and there are many reasons why a buyer would leave a neg but be more than happy to have it removed. The most important issue here as i see it is customer satisfaction, this is why ebay keep going on about all the changes they are doing to make ebay a safer and more enjoyable place to buy from. So why will they not remove a neg when the issue is resolved.
COME ON EBAY WAKE UP!!
We can all except that we are going to get the odd numpty that you can never please. We got one the other day that said missleading advert, what they should have said is i am very silly and did not read the auction details! We Even refunded this guy in full and then he thanked us by giving us a Neg for his stupidity! But that is part & parcel of ebay that can not be changed. However to not remove feedback that the customer would gladly remove is nothing more than Crazy!
THE MAJOR FLAW
As mentioned ebay say this is all about customer experience well if this is the case can ebay tell me who would be the most satisfied customer, the one that left a neg and thats it end of story no back up service no one to resolve there problems, or the customer who left a neg and was then contacted by the customer service from the company they purchased from and had there issue resolved. Anyone with any brain cells can see that the customer with the issue resolved walks away from ebay happier so why can't ebay see this?
As a result of this flaw there is not insentive for sellers to resolve an issue once the buyer as left a neg because they know that the neg will still stay.
EBAY PLEASE DONT TAKE THIS THE WRONG WAY BUT
Come on see the coffee, I think you should be congratualted on the new feedback system i personally thinks it's great but it's time to stand up and admit that to deny the chance to mutual feedback removal is just not right and runs totally against what you are trying to achieve and that is total buyer satisfaction, which will not be achieved when it is actually needed most and that is when a customer is not satisfied, when they could end up having there problem solved and everyones happy.
Now correct me if i am wrong but as of today the 4th of semptmber there is no way that you can mutually remove feedback unless i am being giving false information so what needs to be done. If you are one of the many sellers that thinks that this is wrong and needs to be brought to ebays attention then i think together we can make them listen. Buyers should help to as sellers will jump quickly to resolve any issues that you have had.

VOTE for this guide now lets make it get a great response i will keep ebay informed and hopefully if it gets enough votes they might take note. if your an ebay user please email this page to everyone you know and get them to vote. Yes even buyers because you to will benifit by better customer service and after sales because sellers will be more responsive to problems if they know there efforts are going to be rewarded.
And if by any chance anyone from ebay is looking at this now don't take it as a personal grudge because i know many good sellers know that you are heading in the right direction and you deserve credit for for the changes you are making but surely you must see that by removing the mutal feedback removal system, that it is working against customer satisfaction and not for it, on top of that it is not fair on hard working sellers who try to do there best for there customers. Once agian we have to rally to be heard to make ebay a better place for all.
