FACT - There are currently over 9,000 assessors either accredited, or through their exams (October 2007)

FACT - There are 1.3 million property transactions per year on average (source : Carsberg Review of Residential Property, October 2007) - giving 2.7 assessments per Assessor per week - think you can live on that?

FACT - Rentals will need EPCs, but only once every TEN years - and unless you already have your foot in the door with estate agents, you WILL NOT get any work.

FACT - The minimum cost of an Energy Performance Certificate is currently around £40 (average possibly £100)

FACT - Panels such as LMS, PSG and others have now closed their doors - they have enough assessors.

FACT - Unless you have very very good contacts in the property sector you WILL NOT get any work.

FACT - The conservative party want Home Information Packs SCRAPPED.

Don't do it!

By all means buy Energy Assessment course material from ebay for a few quid, and have a read - but don't go off the deep end and spend thousands on a career with no prospects.

Do your research thoroughly before signing up to train as an Energy Assessor - please!
