Not content with faking covers, screens & accessories, the beautiful, high quality NOKIA 8800 SIROCCO EDITION has been launched on ebay in a cheap, copied, worthless form. These are being sold IN THE UK

How can you tell?

If you look at the CD, the CONNECTING PEOPLE logo is spelt wrong, an error that Nokia wouldn't make. The sirocco sells for £600 retail and is a top quality phone. This phone is worthless and will have no warranty.

If you dial *#0000# it will tell you the model code of the phone, and the model code of a Sirocco is RM-165. If it says RM13 this is for the older 8800, which means that this is the circuit board inside your phone!

The desktop charger should be a DT16, but the one supplied is a copy (DT8). The mains charger plug should be AC-3X, small square charger.The wired hands free should NOT have made in China and the metal clip on the box should say Sirocco EDITION, not just Sirocco and is made out of much thicker metal.

In the genuine package, a bluetooth handset is supplied as standard-none supplied with the fake.

Check the fitting of outer covers & you will see gaps between the covers & the slider which do not exist on the genuine phone. The covers are cheap fakes.

The case supplied in the genuine box is a hard leather case with Nokia stamped on it, not a rolled up piece of rubbish.

If you receive one of these phones, request an IMMEDIATE refund and inform TRADING STANDARDS. The seller should also refund you return postage, via special delivery. I'm sure that if you threaten police action then he/she will comply.
