WHICH EXTINGUISHER ? AND WHY?
WATER TYPE
Water extinguishers are ideal for use on class A fires (fires involving wood, paper, textiles and other carbon based materiels) DO NOT USE ON LIVE ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT.
DRY POWDER TYPE
Dry Powder extinguishers are ideal for use on class A,B and C fires and are also suitable for use on live electrical equipment, making this type the most popular choice amongst customers in both the industrial and domestic sectors.
FOAM TYPE
Foam extinguishers are for use on class A & B fires only, excelent in use on petrol fires or other burning liquids and ideal as part of a multi-risk fire protection set up. DO NOT USE ON LIVE ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT.
CARBON DIOXIDE TYPE
Carbon dioxide or Co2 is most suitable for fires involving live electrical equipment, machinery,vehicles or burning liquids, when in use the Co2 extinguisher puts out the fire and the Co2 gas then dissipates into the atmosphere leaving no trace or residue.
