I really enjoy starting a new felting and spinning projects, but like most people find myself overwhelmed with which fibres and colours to work with... after all I have so many in stock to choose from!
So to help me get a feel for how to proceed I start by planning my colour scheme and planning how individual colours might work together. The easiest way to do this is to use small cuttings from each of the colours I have available in my personal craft/felt box. If I can't find a particular shade/colour I also use wall paint chips from a DIY store! When I have my colours together I place them on an A4 white piece of paper (Tip - a white background brings out the tones of each colour) and place each colour (one by one) next to each of the other colours to make sure that there is no clashing. If there is, then I look for a new shade of that colour... one that works with the others.
When I'm ready with my colour scheme I can go shopping for the colours I haven't got!
To make life easier for you when you are shopping at Sara's Texture Crafts I have created a colour card of my Merino shades... I'll soon be adding other fibre shade cards to this collection.
