About five years ago I had a great filter coffee maker, a Phillips Cafe Comfort, which kept my coffee hot from 9am to 11pm and made me about four mugs a day. Probably far too much caffeine, but I love it! After it broke down about three and a half  years later, my husband bought me a new coffee maker, a Hinari Cafe Mattino which cost him £40 and a 20-mile trip to Comet - and I was so disappointed as it didn't keep my coffee warm all day and switched itself off 2 hours later. Now what's the point of making all that coffee if you can't get a hot coffee at lunch time as well?

Then last Christmas my son bought me a Tassimo machine and I thought, Wow! Weren't they expensive? Well, yes, almost £100. So here goes, mmm, delicious and enjoyed them very much - the trouble was so did everyone else and my precious tassimo pods were vanishing quicker than I could count. My other two sons, daughters-in-law, grannies, visitors, etc were draining my pod resources and my purse (£3.99 for 16?) and now I'm fed up going to my nearest Tesco (3 miles away and I don't drive!) and my local Tesco only have two varieties anyway.

So what have I done? Hey, I found a Phillips Cafe Comfort Plus on eBay, so I bid and I won and I can't wait for it to arrive. My Fair Trade coffee grains are patiently waiting for their bath!

And the Tassimo has a happy ending too, it's off to my husband's office.

Don't you just love eBay?
