DIGITAL - basically the way TV signals are broadcast in the UK is changing from ANALOGUE to DIGITAL.

Since TV signals were very first broadcast, this has been via an analogue signal, received by your aerial and decoded (turned into pictures and sound) via the analogue tuner inside your TV.

For the past few years a new way of broadcasting TV signals has existed - DIGITAL SIGNALS. The advantage is that a digital signal allows for a wider range of information so allowing greatly increased CHANNELS & SERVICES to be received by your TV.

DIGITAL TV is basically received by one of 3 methods:

1. DIGITAL TUNER / RECEIVER - This is often known as a FREEVIEW box or tuner. Your TV may have a DIGITAL / FREEVIEW tuner built in, or you may have already purchased a FREEVIEW / SET TOP BOX which is connected to your current TV.

2. SKY - All SKY broadcasts are already DIGITAL.

3. CABLE TV - All cable TV is already broadcast in DIGTAL only.
