My Tom Tom ONE - Satellite Navigation System

There are now so many to choose from and amazingly they all keep falling in price! I faced this exact dilemma when I came to buy myself a Sat Nav system for my jeep. I am so impressed with my new Sat Nav that I thought that I should tell everyone about it, so that maybe with my advice, the choice of which Sat Nav you buy will be a little easier.

I brought the newly released for christmas 2006 - Tom Tom One. The Tom Tom One was released as an additional Sat Nav system to their already 3 strong popular model range. The range previously included the Tom Tom GO series 300/500/700. The additions to be were the Tom Tom One and Tom Tom Rider. These two new models were to include all the features of the existing models, with a few extras, like a change to a faster on board processor. Plus the biggest difference was that they were to be more affordable, I suppose to make it seem more of a necessity than a luxury for your motor.

Accessories

The first accessory that I normally buy whenever I get a new piece of electrical equipment is the protective case. Its a must to keep your new toy in tip top condition. Ok, I admit they normally are the most overpriced accessory you will find, but its just like buying an insurance policy. If you happen to drop it, or sit on it, you will know that it has the best protection possible to prevent every day life from damaging it. In the picture above is my protective case for my Tom Tom One. It is the official case from Tom Tom, built pacifically to hold the Tom Tom One. This is a hard case which has already saved my unit from getting crushed a few times. It cost me about £25 and was brought brand new, from here on eBay.

This Second accessory that I have brought is great for anyone who is on the move. It is a MULTI FUNCTIONAL TOUCH SCREEN STYLUS PEN. This stylus pen adds versatillity to your navigation device. It includes a touch screen sensitive stylus for more accuracy of screen selection, so no more big fingers hitting more than one touch screen command at a time!! It also has red and blue ball point pens, and a 0.5mm mechanical pencil. All squashed into one pen, just select which of the four functions you want to use with a touch of a button. I find this a very useful little tool as I often have to work from my car whilst out on the road and I now just have the one pen in my pocket at all times. Plus I have found that by using the screen stylus to operate my Tom Tom, it is much quicker and easier. This cost me about £9 from eBay.
