HOMEMADE LEMONADE
What with the summer just around the corner, I decided to embark on a bit of creative cusine, hence the lemonade.
This lemonade is absoloutely mouth wateringly gorgeous(honestly!!) and so refreshing!!!
Its cheap and easy to make and is perfect to make with your kids!
INGREDIENTS
- 5 unwaxed lemons
- 1 cup of sugar
- 4 cups of water
ITEMS NEEDED
- A knife
- A saucepan
- A squeezer
- A fridge!!
METHOD
- Start of by making a simple sugar sloution, by mixing one cup of sugar with 1 cup of water in a saucepan. Bring to the boil stir well, and allow to cool. (This solution can be made in advance and used when required)
- Slice the lemons in half and juice them, making sure all pips are removed. Strain if needed.
- Add the lemon juice and 4 glasses of cold water to the sugar solution and stir well.
- Chill in the fridge!
SIMPLE!!!
Serve over ice with a twist of lemon...
I guarantee you will love this!!!
TOP TIPS
Add grated lemon rind to the sugar solution and allow to difuse while cooling. This will add a more zingly lemony tatse.
Prick the lemons gently with a fork and heat in the microwave on full for 30 seconds. Then roll the lemons with your hands before juicing, as this will give you more juice.
If wanted, use some of the lemonade to make the ice cubes with....mmmmmm
