For all ebayers thinking of buying a car/van with/out a V5 then i am about to save you some money. If you are thinking of buying a car/van on ebay then the very 1st thing to do on the vehicle is a HPi check. I have bought a couple of vehicles off ebay myself WITH a V5 or V5C/2 (green slip) and it turns out that these vehicles have been written off/been recorded as damaged by an insurance company and will need a VIC check. A VIC check is £36 and the vehicle must pass this VOSA test before DVLA will issue a new V5 to yourself. Don`t get caught out, get a basic HPi check from textcheck.co.uk which is only £3 by mobile phone. This simple/cheap history check could save you a lot of money and from buying a vehicle that has been written off. DON`T GET CAUGHT OUT BUYING A LEMON!
