DIY TIPS!
Many people enter the world of DIY because it's either because you fix it up or you can't afford to get it done or because you want the job done with your personal requirements in mind...
This throws you into areas that are usually left to the trained professional, when looked at this way we can already see potential problems.
So as a DIY'er you enter a DIY superstore. Must be the right place to purchase DIY goods... Isn't it?
Not always a good start at all. Some DIY store goods are sold at grossly inflated prices. Check out the costs online before you go - people rarely do this and so pay more than they need to!
DIY stores sell many gimmick goods that professionals would never entertain. Also they are not always the cheapest source of quality tools and fixings! On the plus side some supply trained staff and courses.
The next problem once you have found good suppliers is finding a good source of information. The internet is of course a huge source of this but there are also some great DIY books available that can save you much time and money and also can be sat next to your work unlike the PC!
If you keep your early projects realistic, take the time to source good economical suppliers and get the right information before you start, you have the best chance of success!
Good Luck!
