This guide should be read in conjunction with the Advanced Shops Guide and simply shows how to construct the links described in it.
Linking to your Shop Home Page - Use this as a general link to your shop
Message - "Visit our eBay Shop"
Constructing the Link:
1. Go to the desired Shop home page
2. Copy the URL found in your browser Address Field
3. Insert copied Link into listing
Inserting the Link
Insert the link into your auction (You must select the HTML View in either Sell Your Item Form or TurboLister!)
Visit our <a href="http://stores.eBay.co.uk/shop-name">eBay Shop</a>
(replace http://stores.eBay.co.uk/shop-name with the link that you copied - All the links following will be inserted in the same manner)
Linking to a SIF (Store Inventory Format) Item - Use this as a specific product link
Message "Buy this item now in our eBay shop"
Constructing the Link:
1. Go to the desired SIF Listing
2. Copy the URL found in your browser Address Field
3. Insert copied Link into listing
Linking to a Shop Category - Use to show similar items
Message "See more XYZ products in our eBay shop"
Constructing the Link:
1. Go to your shop homepage
2, Click on the category you want to link to
3. Copy the URL found in your browser Address Field
4. Insert copied Link into listing
Linking to a Custom Shop Search - Use this type of link to showcase products from several different Shop Categories
Message - "See all XYZ products in our eBay Shop"
Constructing the Link:
1. Go to your shop homepage
2, Enter the search keywords into your shop search and click "Search"
(NB you can search Titles, or Titles & Descriptions to refine the search)
3. Copy the URL found in your browser Address Field
4. Insert copied Link into listing
Combining Links for Immediate Sales - Show only BIN items
Message - "Buy an XYZ now in our eBay Shop"
Constructing the Link:
1. Go to your shop homepage
2, Construct one of the links above
3. Click "Buy It Now Only" (above the "Sort By" box on the right above your auctions)
4. Copy the URL found in your browser Address Field
5. Insert copied Link into listing
Encouraging Bidding Activity - Show only Auction items
Message - "Bid on others in the collection in our eBay Shop"
Constructing the Link:
1. Go to your shop homepage
2, Construct one of the links above
3. Click "Auction Only" (above the "Sort By" box on the right above your auctions)
4. Copy the URL found in your browser Address Field
5. Insert copied Link into listing
Linking to a Custom Shop Page
Message - "See our Sizing Guide" or "Additional information about XYZ Products"
Constructing the Link:
1. Go to your shop homepage
2. Click the desired shop Custom Page
3. Copy the URL found in your browser Address Field
4. Insert copied Link into listing
Overriding default Item Display Properties
Combine this strategy with any of the above links. You can override any of the item display techniques explained in the "Setting up Shop on eBay" Guide. The item display features are set when you open your shop and are
List View / Gallery View
Show Picture / Hide Picture (In list View)
Sort by: Ending First / Newly Listed / Price: Lowest First / Highest First
Hide SubCategories
View Ending Times / View Time Left
You may wish to highlight pictures and override list view in favour of gallery
If you are highlighting auctions only you may wish to list either as Lowest Price first to encourage EARLY bidding, or to highlight Ending First to encourage LAST MINUTE Bidding
Constructing the Link:
1. Go to your shop homepage
2. Construct the desired link as above
3. Apply the Item Display attributes chosen
4. Copy the URL found in your browser Address Field
5. Insert copied Link into listing
