If you are one of the growing number of people who write a blog, then you know the importance of getting your blog seen on the internet. Its pointless having a great blog if no one reads it!

One of the best ways to get found, is by being in the search engines and blog directories (actually being listed in a blog directory is a good way to get listed in many search engines).

As the owner of one of the blog directories out there, lsblogs dot com I thought I would share a few tips on how to best ensure your blog gets listed, not rejected.

You would be suprised just how many blogs get rejected on a daily basis, there are many reasons for rejection, and this guide will cover the main ones.

Your blog should be of good quality, and not crash a major browser such as internet explorer or opera, if it crashes my browser when I check it, it will be rejected! It goes without saying it should be virus free, and contain nothing illegal, racist, or other unsuitable content. The only exception is adult orientated blogs, which are allowed, but ONLY in the adult category.

As this directory (like many others) is categorised, you have to find the best category to list your blog in, a good way to get rejected is to just stick it in a totally unsuitable category because you could not be bothered to do a little research first.

The title of your blog, that you submit should be considered carefully, something like "the best blog, lalalalalalal ahahahahahah" wont stand much of a chance, and even if it got in, who would bother clicking a link like that?

Suprisingly, one common mistake, is people actually put in a incorrect URL (Web address) for their blog, so it cant be found when I click on it to check - again, if you cant be bothered to submit it correctly, it wont get in. Spend a little time, the effort should pay off.

If you are one of those people that knocks out ten blogs a day, for the sole purpose of making money, then again, you probably wont get in, unless you actually produce ten quality, useful blogs. Readers dont want to see rubbish churned out quickly, they want something to read, or look at and enjoy.

Work on making your blog the best you can make it, and submit to the various directories, carefully reading their terms and conditions, and you wont go far wrong.

You dont have to link back to lsblogs, some, but not all directories require a link back, but it never hurts to link back, or write a post saying you are listed, and telling other people about a directory, as the more people that use it, the more popular it becomes. The more popular a site becomes, the more readers you will see back at your blog.
