PLEASE VOTE ON THIS GUIDE AT THE BOTTOM!!!
I was shopping around for a humidifier for our babys nursery as I kept reading that it is VITAL to keep temperature between 16-20 celsius and humidity between 40-60%. Temperature is easy to regulate, but to change humidity requires a humidifier (or de-humidifier). On top of this you still need to buy a hygrometer to check the humidity levels as many humidifiers dont have them built-in!!!
I realised I would need a hygrometer in any case, so I purchased a combined electronic thermometer and hygrometer device on eBay for just £7.99.
I bought one first before the humidifier, thinking well at least I will have tested the humidity levels (and have another... and portable and small) thermometer.
All I can say is........... DO NOT BUY A HUMIDIFIER UNTIL YOU TEST THE HUMIDITY LEVELS IN YOUR HOUSE FIRST!!!!
Every room in my house was between the recommended levels, so needless to say I havent purchased a humidifier.
