All brand new Dior & Chanel full sized skincare products have a foil peel off seal on the tubes & bottles. The pumps have a metallic sticky strip over the nozzle.
The full sized eye creams are 15ml.
Full sixed pots of face creams are 30ml & 50ml.
The tubes of hand cream are 75ml.
The full sized pumps vary from as little as 30ml (for serums etc.) to 75ml, 150ml & 200ml for cleansers, toners & body creams.
The GWP - Gift With Purchase (15ml) Dior capture/hydraction pots of face creams have a tear off plastic strip around the lids. However both the Dior 5ml eye cream & 10ml serum pumps do not have any kind of seal.
All the Chanel & Dior 2-8ml tubes/pots are samples & are sometimes included with a GWP.
With Chanel Precision toners/bodycare samples are 8-12ml bottles/tubes.
To ensure you really get brand new items always ask the seller if the item is sealed if it is not mentioned in the description or clearly visable in the photo.
This is important as the skincare items often have to be used with 6 months/12 months of opening. This is especially important if you have sensitive skin.
You would not eat food past it's sell by or use within date so the same care should be taken with your skin. You would not take a risk of getting food poisoning so why risk an embarassing face rash at the best? If an item is not sealed or tested/used it could have bacterias in it like herpes/cold sores or conjunctavitus or even ringworm!!! You never know how clean the previous user is.
When buying an unsealed pot of cream always open & test first before leaving feedback. Smell the cream in the pot/tube first. Does it smell right? Is it the right colour? If it is, test a small bit of the cream on the back of your hand, does it feel right, does your skin react to it (when it normally doesn't)? The cream could be old or filled/added with a different product.
If the product is new & you don't know how it smells/looks/feels try to test some in a shop first, or if you have a friend who uses the product, ask to see their's - you need to know what you are buying. If in any doubt DO NOT USE. Take it to a beauty counter where they can advise you.
I beleive it's worth paying more for a sealed pot rather than saving a few quid & gaining an infection/rash.
There are many great genuine bargains to be had on Ebay. When buying your own personal beauty supplies, the best bargains are the sealed but unboxed products or sealed testers. You only end up throwing the box away anyway, so it seems pretty pointless to pay more for a boxed item.
Make sure you are clear on the size you are buying...
Some sellers show images of full sized products when the item offered is a sample or GWP.
